Dapper Dude

With warmer weather comes slightly lighter clothes. Since the sun was out, I wanted to use it as an opportunity to wear lighter colored clothes. Ultimately I decided to wear my white Super Mario shirt from Uniqlo’s limited Nintendo collection. While it is a novelty shirt, Uniqlo leans towards minimalism and a sleek style compared to other places. I paired it with my brown Zara trench coat, which is one of my favorite personal pieces. It was in between being hot and cold, which made it the perfect occasion to match it with the Mario shirt, which elevates my casual look.

My look for Thursday, April 5th was rather laidback and simple. I wore a grey Abercrombie and Fitch button-up shirt that’s technically supposed to be a jacket since it had pockets. I paired it with slim fit Lucky Brand jeans and black Puma sneakers. Normally, I would elevate the look by wearing brown boots, but Thursday was relatively warm and I like wearing lighter shoes on sunnier days. Good style doesn’t have to be complex and this is one of the ways that I try to look nice.

 

My name is Joseph Gonzales and I am a senior Communication Studies major and English and Women’s, Gender, Sexuality Studies double minor. Dapper Dude is supposed to reflect my personality as a guy who likes to dress well and have fun in the process. Being from Los Angeles, I personally believe that how you present yourself to the world can lead to opportunities that you may not have expected. I hope that this blog reaches to guys within my age range to explore their sense of style and to not have to worry about clothing combinations being perfect. This is me at the Indianapolis airport. Since I was travelling, I decided to wear something comfortable, yet stylish. One of my favorite pieces of my outfit was my knitted cardigan from Gap. Style can be in tandem with comfortability. We all can be Dapper Dudes!
